Prior experience includes portfolio management of global and European equity strategies, thematic investment funds and long/short mandates, with a particular focus on healthcare and aerospace companies. This buy‑side perspective informs a pragmatic, investor‑centric approach to engagement.
Leadership
Capital Engagement Partners is led by Alex Hunter, who has worked in the capital markets since the early 1990s. His career has included:
- Equity Partner and Board member at a London‑based investment firm, managing assets for educational endowments, charities and pension funds and presenting thematic stewardship strategies to trustees and consultants.
- Portfolio manager of global thematic and global income equity funds, with responsibility for healthcare and aerospace coverage and the development of junior analysts.
- Earlier roles as a European aerospace sell‑side equity analyst and as a chartered accountant focusing on charity accounting, pension funds and internal financial controls.
Alex previously qualified as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and as a Chartered Accountant (ACA). He is no longer a member of either professional body, but the training continues to inform his analytical and governance perspective.
